Philosophy

Politicians are always talking about the fight against poverty in the world. However, anyone can tell that the gap between the rich and the poor is far from closing. Quite the contrary: the rich are gradually increasing their wealth, which nevertheless they scarcely share.
The AcbGroup strongly disagrees with this situation, but realises that alone, it cannot undo all the wrongs of this earth. However, what it can do and actually does, is purposefully relieve the pain by supporting specific projects.

Projects:

2008 – 2010: Chrismas Fair Charity Fund – South Africa

This organisation mainly focuses on providing assistance in the day nurseries and schools around Durban, for instance by supplying meals, but also by taking care of orphans, abused and maltreated children, etc. Within the scope of this fund, the AcbGroup has realised two projects: the construction of a Safe House in Stanger on the one hand, and on the other hand a contribution to the sanitary and kitchen facilities in the Thembeni Junior Primary School at Groutville.

2006 : Foundation for Cambodja

This organisation provides free education to orphans, outcasts and street children. In Phnom Penh and Sihanouk Ville, some 1600 boys and girls are currently being schooled in metalworking, welding, car and electrical engineering, dietetics, computer science and cooking. AcbGroup supports this organisation financially through donations.

2009 : DVC Sint Jozef

DVC Sint Jozef is a help centre which provides services to children with physical and mental disabilities. The AcbGroup has purchased an indoor rower and treadmill for the little patients.

Various minor contributions

The AcbGroup also supports projects launched by the mass media, albeit on a smaller scale.
That is why each year, we make a financial contribution to Music For Life (Mothers on the run from war and violence in 2008, Stop Malaria in 2009).
